Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Standards

USN — United States News is committed to accurate, fair and independent journalism. Every story we publish is built on facts verified against two to three reputable sources, including official records, primary documents and established news organisations. Wherever possible, our reporting is original: our editors and writers gather information first-hand, check claims before publication and clearly distinguish verified facts from opinion, analysis and speculation.

Allegations, claims and unproven assertions are always clearly labelled as such, with the source of the claim identified, so readers can tell what has been established and what has not. We do not publish rumours as fact, and we give the people and organisations named in our reporting a fair opportunity to respond.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously and we correct our mistakes promptly. If you spot an error in any article, please email us at [email protected] with a link to the article and a description of the error. We will review the report, verify the facts and, where a correction is needed, update the article and note the correction on the article itself so readers can see what changed.

Source Attribution

We attribute information to its source wherever the source is not our own original reporting. Quotes, data and claims drawn from other publications, official statements, wire services or public records are credited, and we link to the original source where it is publicly available. Sources who ask to remain anonymous are granted anonymity only when the information is in the public interest and cannot be obtained on the record, and their identity is known to the editor.

Images

Featured images on USN are editorial illustrations created to accompany a story. They are not photographs of the events, people or places described, and they should not be taken as documentary evidence of what happened. Where a genuine photograph is used, it is presented as such.
